Specialty Services: Neurology

If your dog seems weak, limps, has seizures or any other neurological problems, your pet may require a neurology consult. Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists is proud to offer the services of Dr. Liran Tzipory, DVM, DACVIM (Neurology).

At your pet’s neurology consultation, a veterinary technician will begin by talking with you about your pet’s history, and reviewing records from your family veterinarian. Our board-certified neurology specialist will perform a full physical exam in order to assess and diagnose your pet’s condition. The neurology staff will discuss differentials, diagnostics, and prognoses with you during the consult.

Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists will work with you to create the best possible treatment plan for your pet, and your pet will receive advanced, top-of-the-line diagnostic tools and experienced, compassionate treatment and care.

Neurological Services

We have our own MRI on site to provide your animal with the best and timeliest care that we can. MRI is the best imaging modality to evaluate/view the brain, spinal cord, nerve roots, and other major nerves.
We partner with a local hospital to use their CT scanning facilities.  We use our fully-equipped ambulance to transport patients to these scans.

The ambulance has all the same monitoring and emergency treatment capabilities as a veterinary clinic, and is always staffed by a certified veterinary technician and a doctor, thus allowing us to monitor and care for our sick patients during transport.

Neurologic Surgery
  • Decompressive disk surgery for acute and chronic degenerative disk disease, including diseases of the cervical, thoracolumbar, and lumbosacral spine
  • Fixation and stabilization of spinal fractures and congenital malformations
  • Neuro-oncologic procedures, such as excision of brain and spinal tumors

Seizure Management
There are many seizure control medications available. Choosing a medication varies by patient and consultation can help maximize control.
