Green Building & Operations
Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists is a LEED-certified (Leadership in Environmental & Energy Design) facility. “LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.” (usgbc.org)
As pioneers in green building and operations, our facility frequently receives requests to consult or speak with other veterinarians. Surgical specialist and practice owner Matthew Rooney, DVM lectures nationally on the green building of veterinary hospitals and green hospital operations. In March of 2010, he presented at the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) National Conference in Long Beach, California.
