Dr. Sean Williams is a veterinarian in the 24/7 emergency and critical care department at Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists in Boulder. He was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota as an undergraduate with a degree in Biology. He received his DVM degree from the University of Minnesota’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. During veterinary school Dr. Williams spent part of a semester studying in the countries of India and Thailand and has an interest in international medicine. He then attended a one-year small animal internship in Norwalk, Connecticut in a busy emergency and specialty hospital where he developed additional training in areas such as ultrasonography, endoscopy, advanced surgical skills and managing the critical care patient. He has been practicing emergency and critical care medicine exclusively since finishing this internship.
In addition to canine and feline patients, Dr. Williams has worked with a wide variety of other animals, including volunteer work at the Minnesota Raptor Center and working at a progressive Avian and Exotics practice throughout veterinary school. He feels comfortable treating a wide variety of animals including rabbits, ferrets, small mammals, reptiles and psittacines. Throughout his entire practice of emergency and critical care medicine, Dr. Williams has, in the words of his mentor, “treated anything that will fit through the door.”
Dr. Williams came to Colorado in September 2004 for its wonderful people and pets and has also enjoyed the many outdoor activities the state has to offer. He has a special interest in the trauma patient and has adopted an abandoned kitten named “Noodle” who survived severe head trauma. Dr. Williams strives to always provide the absolute best care for his clients and patients and has a true passion for veterinary medicine.
