Duties Include:

  • Proficient with restraint and handling of dogs and cats
  • Ability to triage incoming patients
  • Knowledge of normal vital parameters and recognition of abnormals
  • Knowledge of common emergency procedures including but not limited to CPCR and IV catheter placement
  • Use of multi-parameter monitoring equipment (including, but not limited to: ECG, SP02, ETC02, NIBP)
  • Basic knowledge of bandaging and wound care techniques
  • Client relations including but not limited to obtaining histories, client education, creation and communication on estimates and invoices
  • Use of proper technique and positioning for digital radiography
  • Operation of in-house laboratory equipment
  • Venipuncture and sample collection procedures
  • Drug and fluid calculations and administration
  • Inpatient care and evaluation
  • Answering phones and triaging calls.

Duties Include:

  • Client Relations:
    • Entering patient and client information into DVMax when needed
    • Know basic reception duties which may include taking payments/deposits
  • Technical Assistant Duties:
    • Restraining animals for Vet Tech on duty to help with radiographs, blood draws, IVC placement.
    • Setting up and retraining patients for Ultrasound
    • Follow all protocols, policies and procedures of Aspen Meadow
    • Using proper technique and positioning in radiology
    • Submission of radiographs in a timely matter for standard and stat reviews
    • Copy radiographs to a CD for the client
  • Laboratory
    • Able to send out lab tests to designated labs/universities.
    • Operate all lab/diagnostic equipment
    • Procyte, Catalyst, Coagulation tests, Blood Typing Tests, Idexx Snap tests, etc
    • Nursing care for hospitalized patients
    • Making sure all animals are on clean bedding.
    • Walk animals, as needed, outside for bathroom breaks
  • CPR Situations:
    • Recording notes on all drugs that are administered
  • Cleaning list:
    • Finish the cleaning list prior to clocking out for your shift

In this full-time role, experienced veterinary sales professionals engage the veterinary community with how Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists can enhance and advance the excellent care and quality service they are already providing to their clients and pet patients.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create and cultivate relationships with veterinary hospitals in the Boulder/Longmont market
  • Deliver strong results in key sales metrics and goals
  • Enhance veterinary community relationships by organizing veterinary education events
  • Develop and execute a territory business plan
  • Ability to travel daily to various sites within territory, expenses reimbursed.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher in Animal Science, Medical Technical Specialty or Communications
  • 3-5 years sales experience preferably in animal health or medical device desired
  • Proficiency in veterinary medical terminology and procedures
  • Proven track record of strong sales performance
  • Highly customer-oriented and flexible
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Full-Time at the Boulder Hospital

Applicants must have the ability to work compassionately, calmly and effectively under pressure in emotionally intense situations; accurately and consistently follow directions; strive for continuous learning; possess good communication skills; work well in a team environment with a good sense of humor and positive attitude.

Duties Include:

  • Restraint and handling of dogs and cats
  • Knowledge of normal vital parameters and recognition of abnormals and associated treatment; IV catheter placement; establishing an anesthetic protocol; induction, endotracheal intubation, maintenance and monitoring anesthesia; recognition of abnormal vital parameters and their associated treatments; the use and maintenance of anesthesia machines (including different circuits) and multi-parameter monitoring equipment (including, but not limited to: ECG, SP02, ETC02, NIBP); surgical preparation and aseptic technique; post-operative recovery, monitoring and pain control, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of surgical equipment including instruments, suction, cautery, etc, and their associated cleaning techniques and care; operation and maintenance of autoclave and ethylene oxide sterilizers
  • Basic knowledge of bandaging and splinting techniques
  • Client relations including but not limited to obtaining histories, client education, creation and communication on estimates and invoices
  • Use of proper technique and positioning for digital radiography
  • Operation of in-house laboratory equipment
  • Knowledge of venipuncture and sample collection procedures
  • Drug and fluid calculations and administration;
